Updated: 15 minutes ago

7/15: Congrats to Robin Currie on winning The Creative Company's book giveaway! We'll be in touch soon with more details.

A special thanks to everyone who joined us to celebrate Summer Reading & Fun!

6/24

Hi, readers, writers, and National Park lovers, too! If you'd love to travel to the Grand Canyon, the Everglades, the Rocky Mountains, or any National Park this summer but don’t have the time, you're in luck - we have the wonderful team at The Creative Company sharing their newly released National Parks series with us. This series will not only bring you to the parks but also introduce you to the wildlife that lives there and give you a closer look at the terrain at the parks, too. Want to know more about The Creative Company and their new series along with their summer reading suggestions, PLUS want a chance to win your own National Park book from this exciting series? Read on...

Q: Hi, The Creative Company! We’re so excited to have you back and feature you today for our Summer Reading and Fun Event! As we know, summer is a time of year where families often take vacations, head outdoors, and explore together.

Your National Parks series captures just that - the unique terrain, animals, and what young explorers might experience when visiting the parks - your books are literally a walk through the parks!

Can you share more about this series with our readers?

A: Our National Parks series for readers grades 5–8 takes them on an incredible journey to explore and appreciate the natural beauty found in the United States. Each book is like a guided tour through one of the iconic parks and features vibrant images and rich narratives. Readers will also find and learn about park histories, weather facts, wildlife knowledge, and must-see gems!

Check out all of these National Park Books, readers!

Q: Can you share a fun fact from the series that might surprise readers?

A: Park officials say that hiking to the floor of the Grand Canyon and back in one day is more physically demanding than running a marathon, which is 26.2 miles. This fun fact is from the Grand Canyon National Park title and goes on to share tips about preparing for your hike.

Q: The Creative Company has so many fun titles on their list. What are some books that readers can pick up for summer-themed fun?

A: For anyone interested in picture books, we have Summer's Child, Pirates at the Plate, and In the Garden that make for great summer-time reads! All very different, but all are so beautifully illustrated.

With baseball in full swing during the summer, elementary-aged fans of the sport can check

out our World Series Champions series. Each book introduces the featured club, star players, and memorable championships.

The next Summer Olympics aren't until 2028, but our Amazing Summer Olympics series will get readers excited about the next games. Each book introduces young sports enthusiasts to Olympic events with action photos, elementary-level text, and features a biographical story about a famous competitor or team.

For older readers, our Odysseys in Outdoor Adventures series invites readers to explore activities such as camping, canoeing, and hiking. Each book shares the history of the activity, as well as tips and advice on how to adapt to unexpected situations. Great for readers who want to learn more about an outdoor activity before embarking on their own adventure!

Q: Can you share any new and exciting titles with us from The Creative Company that our readers can dive into this summer or be on the lookout for this fall?

A: Yes! We have a few new picture books and board books releasing in August, so keep an eye out for those. A Sense of Red and Baby, Let's Go to the Orchestra! from the fall list are becoming quick favorites!

We'll have new series nonfiction releasing in July. A couple of series we're excited about are three new Creative Sports series (World Cup Winners, NFL Super Bowl Stories, and NFL Hall of Famers), Game Changers, and Voices in Hip-Hop. For the first time, we have a bilingual series releasing, and this will be for a set of our popular Amazing Animals titles. There are so many great series that we are excited to be releasing, so be sure to check them out!

Thanks for all these amazing reading suggestions! Our TBR piles just grew big time.

Q: For those interested in submitting to The Creative Company, can you share info on how to submit?

A: Creative Education is our nonfiction imprint that publishes books in a variety of subjects. There are no subject restrictions, but subject matter should be appropriate for the reading level.

Creative Editions publishes picture books and board books. Creative Editions seeks extraordinary texts that transcend the merely topical—books that arise from the empathetic imagination and are timeless, and ageless, in their appeal.

Q: BONUS QUESTION: What’s The Creative Company’s favorite way to celebrate summer?

Some of our favorite ways to celebrate summer are spending time outdoors with nature walks, picnics, and sporting events. And of course finding a good summertime read!

Would you like to offer a tip or a treat for our readers?
