Hi, to all you FANG-tastically BOO-tiful parents, librarians, book fanatics, writers, and readers of all sorts!

Did you enjoy the 13 frightfully fun days with #SeasonsOfKidLit? We certainly had a wonderful time with YOU! It’s been a real treat hosting so many talented creators on our blog, and your charming messages, comments, and words of encouragement have been pure magic. ✨

But wait… the fun isn’t over yet! There’s still time to Trick or Treat with us! Winners will be announced on or about October 18th, so you have until then to leave a comment on and share their posts to enter their giveaways! Don’t miss your chance to sink your fangs into one of the MANY treats being offered this month!

Did you comment on and share every post? If so, drop a note below to let us know and tell us which treat you’re dying to win! Those who commented on and shared all 13 posts are eligible to snag one (1) of five Rate Your Story Speed Passes — perfect for getting quick manuscript feedback — provided by Editor Lynne Marie and Author Heather Macht, and/or one of the books from Heather’s treat bag!

Is there a particular blog post or gift you’re especially excited to win? Let us know in the comments, too! And be sure to head back to the blog on October 18th for our official prize announcements. 👻

Upcoming Interviews & Sneak Peeks

Laura De La Cruz, author of Lowrider For Sale, will be joining us November 1st for Author's Day.

Melissa Stewart, author of SHARKS IN KANSAS, will also be joining us in November for National STEM Day!

And get ready to snuggle up with some warm books… Season’s Readings, our annual celebration of winter-themed books, is heading your way starting December 1st! Stay tuned for more details. ❄️📚

Reminder…

#SeasonsOfKidLit is hosting its second annual Book and Manuscript Awards Contest, and we’ve already received so many amazing submissions! If you’re interested in entering your book or manuscript, check out the submission instructions here: 2026 Book Awards | SeasonsOfKidlit.

Thank you, as always, for your incredible support. We’ve had a wonderful time celebrating books, authors, illustrators, and all things kidlit with you!

Sincerely,

Heather Macht & Lynne Marie

Thank you for hosting this trick-or-treat! I love hearing from all of the guests and learning from their experiences. I shared every day on X. I'm not a super spooky loving person, so I would love to win a critique, but would be happy with anything! Thanks again for hosting!

When I started to commit time to write a children's book last year, Trick-or-treating with #SeasonsofKidLit was the first community I engaged with. It's been fun to see how I've grown over the year and to really appreciate the advice, tips, and treats the authors this year have offered. I loved all the books shared but am particularly interested in "Gwei the Hungry Ghost". All the posts have been shared on Bluesky. Thank you!

Thank you for all the wonderful posts! I commented on all of them and shared them all on X :)

I would love a critique on a current manuscript I am working on. But if not, I honestly will be happy with whatever I win. Thanks again for hosting :)
